Green at DnF, Recycling to Reduce our Impact on the Environment
At Displays N Frames we take very seriously our responsibility for the impact our business activities have on the environment and so are committed to helping to improve the environment for future generations.
In view of this we joined the Amari Recycling Initiative (ARI) this is a unique system within the UK.
The closed loop system is tailored to each individual customer and the system offered fits not just the company’s waste profile but also the practical business issues such as space available etc.
Companies signing up to use the recycling service include sign manufacturers, exhibition and graphic companies, and plastic fabricators.
Graham Croston, joint CEO of Displays N Frames (GJ Plastics Ltd), commented “A site visit was made by Amari Plastics PLC we held discussions on the number of cages we would require to hold the product for recycling and assist us in devising a system which we immediately implemented into our production processes this proved to be extremely easy to use.
The closed loop system allows us to purchase materials then return our waste products for recycling ensuring they do not go into land fill, the recycled plastics can be utilised to manufacture useful products such as key rings, packaging materials and injection moulded items.
We felt that this would not only help the environment but help to reduce our carbon foot print.
The certification of the process allows us to display with pride to our customers our serious intent to continually reduce our carbon footprint.
ARI is designed for users of acrylic, polycarbonate, polyester, polypropylene, aluminium composite and some PVCs.
We are very proud to say we have recycled over 80 Tonnes of plastic waste in the last 12 months alone thus ensuring this does not go into land fill & is part of our ongoing plans to help protect our planet.
